I have been separated from my x since Oct 2013 and moved from our matrimonial home in Dec 2013. I recently learned that my x cancelled our contract with the home alarm company before the contract ended and that I have also been sent to collections (Nov 2015) I was not aware of this since I have moved and had a phone number change. I am being held responsible for this even though we had a settlement agreement (minutes of settlement) (signed May 2015) signed by my x that our debts are now separate. He is taking over the house and I received some compensation for him to keep the house.
He is also ignoring his own lawyer; our divorce application is in court and he is not responding to sign divorce papers.
I don’t want my credit to be affected and also don’t want to pay the alarm company.
Anyone have any suggestions?
