Hi there
How do you deal with a child who has acute separation anxiety? To the point where you can’t leave the room without the child following close behind, like a shadow? The child will not sleep alone, will not go to the toilet on their own, won’t be in a room for a millisecond on their own.
Tried being reassuring, to let child know that both parents still love them. At a loss though. Its getting worse by the day. Both parents having the same behaviour.
Separated 3 years, divorced officially 2 years but both parents have moved homes and both parents have new partners. Its clearly a lot of upheaval for the child. How can the child be helped?
Any tips or thoughts or advice much appreciated
